Important news about scoring and payments

This is an important message and all should read:

Please make sure that you and your teams are scoring matches correctly. I spend a lot of time following up with teams/players regarding what actually happened in the match. We are also noticing teams not paying dues on time and ultimately in many cases causing their team to lose bonus points, so I wanted to go over a few VERY IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

  1. When a player makes the 8Ball/9Ball on the break, whoever is scoring should be marking 8/9 on the break when the pop up comes up on how the player won the match. The same for when a player gets an 8/9 Break & Run. I am getting scoresheets that are marked an 8OB/9OS but notes in the comments mention 8Ball or 9Ball Break & Run or it's not marked at all which comes across on the submitted scoresheet they just made the 8Ball/9Ball normally. This is very important as it does affect a player's stats. Making the 8ball/9ball, getting an 8/9 on the break or getting a Break N Run are all different things and should be scored correctly.
  2. How the match is won/lost is also very important especially when a player wins by default. Wrong Pocket 8Ball is when the player makes the intended 8Ball but in a different pocket than the one that was marked. An Early 8 is when the player makes the 8Ball out of turn. A Scratch 8 is when the player made the intended 8Ball but also scratched the cue ball. These are different things that tell a different story so they should be scored correctly.
  3. A Rackless is ONLY earned when the player also won the lag. If they didn't win the lag, but still prevented their opponent from getting a win, that is NOT a Rackless. (hence, they racked the first match which is not a Rackless by definition.). Shutting out a player and getting a 3-0 is great, however it's only a Rackless if the player also won the lag and all of their required matches without the opponent getting a game. Simply getting a pointless match (2-0/3-0) is not the same thing as a Rackless.
  4. This is ANOTHER reminder about team dues/payment. Team dues are owed no matter how many matches are played. Matches are billed as team dues, NOT per player. Payment is also due the night the matches are played. (36hrs for electronic payment) Teams are losing bonus points each week because they are late. Don't penalize your players by not turning in dues on time. This also means that all players need to be prepared to pay your captain or whoever is collecting money the night you play. If you can't pay, then you shouldn't play. It's not fair to your team who is paying for their matches and it's not fair to your team that just lost bonus points because you didn't pay for your match and caused them to be late.  We do not return lost bonus points once they are taken away SO DONT BE LATE! Just this last session, a few teams lost playoff position or even 1st place because of lost bonus points for not paying on time.
